Landay & Leblang is a law firm dedicated to handling business matters in the U.S. and overseas for its domestic and foreign clients. We advise our clients with respect to a wide range of legal issues and, above all, endeavor to assist our clients to achieve their business goals in an effective, efficient manner. Our principal areas of practice include general corporate and business law, international transactions, banking and trade finance, securities law, investments, trade and investment regulation and intellectual property.

Our firm is founded on the understanding that our relationship with our clients is paramount. Whether we serve a client in connection with discreet transactions or on an ongoing basis as international or general counsel, it is our foremost goal to respond to the client’s needs promptly, creatively and informatively. By design, we work to provide excellent legal services while minimizing the cost to our clients.

Our corporate practice includes a special focus on start-up companies. We work closely with entrepreneurs at all stages of corporate development and we offer “incubator” fee arrangements to appropriate start-up ventures.

Landay & Leblang lawyers have extensive foreign and transnational experience. We offer clients a combination of business-law expertise with the cross-cultural insight necessary to conduct international business successfully. Effective international legal practice requires not only the highest quality of legal advice, but also experience in the international context. Clients not only need their questions answered, but also to know which questions to ask.

Our lawyers have lived and worked overseas, in law firms and business, and studied foreign laws. In addition to English, we speak Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and French. We have seen the pitfalls and misunderstandings that occur between clients, and even co-counsel representing the same client, when legal, linguistic and cultural differences are not properly considered.

We take the time to understand foreign legal and business environments and have developed close relationships with local counsel worldwide. Likewise, we take time to understand our overseas clients and to assist them in navigating through the United States environment.

Locations

Landay & Leblang has offices in Boston and New York City. Our Boston office is located in the heart of the downtown business district. In New York, we are located Midtown. We are thus conveniently located for both domestic and international clients, with easy access to other North American cities.

Admission to Practice Law

Our lawyers are members of the bars of Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New York and Florida. We represent our clients on both national and international levels, and can assist with most questions of U.S. law. Where appropriate, the firm can call upon an extensive network of local counsel nationwide and worldwide.
